Forensic Nursing

Compassionate Care.
Expert Response.

Statewide Forensic Nursing Program

Forensic nurses provide specialized, trauma-informed medical care to survivors of interpersonal violence while serving as essential partners in healthcare, public safety, and the justice system. Through expert clinical practice, evidence-informed care, and ultidisciplinary collaboration, they promote healing, strengthen investigations, and improve outcomes for survivors.

The Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic & Sexual Violence is committed to strengthening Tennessee’s forensic nursing workforce by supporting Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Forensic Nurses, healthcare organizations, and multidisciplinary partners across the state.

Through statewide leadership, education, technical assistance, systems collaboration, and program development, we work to increase access to high-quality, trauma-informed forensic healthcare for survivors in every Tennessee community.
