PREVENTION
The Tennessee Coalition works across the state to build safer, stronger communities by addressing the root causes of domestic and sexual violence and promoting healthy relationships, equity, and respect.
Together, we can prevent violence before it happens.
Through partnerships, education, policy change, and community engagement, we advance prevention strategies that create lasting change across Tennessee.
We engage men and boys as allies in prevention through programs like MenPACT and A Call to Men, and by partnering with community organizations, universities, and youth programs to create conversations that promote respect, responsibility, and positive community change.
We help employers recognize the impact of domestic and sexual violence and provide tools to respond effectively. Our IPV and the Workplace training and toolkit, along with resources on sexual violence in the workplace, support safer, more supportive work environments for all.
We support strategies that strengthen parenting skills, emotion regulation, and healthy relationships. Through evidence-informed programs like Shifting Boundaries, we work with schools and communities to prevent violence and support young people before problems start.
We advocate for policies that create economic security, strengthen workplaces, and promote protective factors that reduce the risk of violence and support individuals and families.
We partner with communities that have historically faced barriers to services, including our work with Bridges for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing, to understand needs and ensure prevention efforts are accessible and effective for everyone.
We convene prevention professionals and community partners to learn, share promising practices, and strengthen prevention efforts statewide. Our annual Prevention Symposium is a key space for collaboration, learning, and connection.
Our annual Prevention Symposium brings preventionists from across Tennessee together to explore strategies, share successes, and strengthen our collective impact.
