Prevention Symposium
The Tennessee Coalition’s annual Prevention Symposium brings together prevention professionals, advocates, community partners, and others working to prevent domestic and sexual violence across Tennessee.
The Symposium creates space to learn from one another, explore emerging strategies, share successes and challenges, and strengthen the relationships that make statewide prevention efforts possible.
Effective prevention requires collaboration across communities, disciplines, and systems. The Prevention Symposium provides an opportunity for professionals from across Tennessee to step away from their day-to-day work and focus specifically on strategies for preventing violence before it occurs.
Sessions and conversations explore topics such as:
Engaging men and boys in violence prevention
Youth engagement and healthy relationships
Community-level prevention strategies
Using data to strengthen prevention efforts
Building effective partnerships
Creating safer workplaces and communities
Emerging and promising prevention practices
The 3rd Annual Prevention Symposium brought preventionists from across Tennessee together for conversation, collaboration, and resource sharing.
Participants explored strategies for continuing to engage men in prevention efforts.
Shared successes in working with young people, highlighting the potential for early intervention to positively influence the trajectory of young lives.
Attendees also explored ways to access and use data to better understand community needs, strengthen prevention strategies, and demonstrate the impact of prevention efforts across Tennessee.
The Symposium is more than a training event. It is an opportunity to strengthen Tennessee’s network of people working to create communities where domestic and sexual violence are less likely to occur.
