Uniting for Justice

The Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (The Coalition) joins with others across our state and the nation in expressing our outrage and sincere sorrow over the continued violence against the Black Community. We mourn the lives of those recently lost, Mr. George Floyd, Ms. Breonna Taylor, Mr. Ahmaud Arbery, Ms. Atatiana Jefferson, and Mr. Tony McDade. We acknowledge that generations of Black People, Indigenous people and communities of color have been devastated and traumatized by racism.

The Coalition advocates for all survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Recognizing that racism plays a significant role in enabling and propagating violence, we must unite together to seek justice, embrace the transformational change that is needed to dismantle all forms of oppression, and actively work to create a world where everyone is safe in their homes and communities.
