Program Manager
Purpose: The Program Manager will be working under a newly awarded Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) federal grant, Training, and Services to End Violence Against Women with Disabilities. The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating meetings between the partnered agencies under this grant which includes Hispanic Family Foundation, Tennessee Disability Coalition, and Sexual Assault Center as well as OVW on strategic planning and implementation of this grant. The first year of this grant will be spent working with partners on creating a grant program scope to then implement in year 2 and 3.

Position: Bilingual VSS Support Specialist

Job Summary: Under the direction of the After-Hours Program Manager, the bilingual VSS Support Specialist provides onsite administrative support to Victim Support Services (VSS) and assistance to clients and their families, visitors, guests, and staff in a friendly, supportive manner. The VSS Support Specialist performs general, essential office duties including, but not limited to: compiling and inputting information into databases, preparing reports, answering phones, greeting visitors, assisting Spanish-speaking clients, sorting mail, photocopying, faxing, processing documents for storage and retrieval, filing, and records management. This position also manages the traffic coming in and out of the facility, monitors general health and safety protocols, and notifies a supervisor when concerns arise.

Position: Child Advocate

Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Lead Shelter Case Manager, the Child Advocate (CA) provides services to children/youth who have experienced domestic violence and/or dating violence. These services, which are coordinated with other VSS staff include but are not limited to: safety planning, coordination of school enrollment and transportation, support groups, advocacy, and follow-up services. The CA develops working relationships with Hamilton County Schools, the Department of Children’s Services, and other child-related agencies to ensure seamless service delivery for children and youth who are victims of domestic violence. The CA will also be responsible for coordinating and leading activities for both parents and children/youth, such as engagement activities, support groups, educational activities related to trauma and safety, and parenting/life skills for families.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development and family studies, psychology, human services, or related fields strongly preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in social work, crisis intervention, youth advocacy, and/or child welfare required. Experience working with children/youth who have experienced trauma strongly preferred. Knowledge of the cycle and impact of trauma related to domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault. Knowledge or experience working with individuals with post-divorce or separation trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and assessments, and/or generational trauma. Certifications or training/experience related to topics such as childhood health, well-being, healthy family relationships, and positive childhood experiences preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

This temporary position is grant funded through December 31, 2024.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related field (psychology, sociology, behavioral courses, etc.) from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or knowledge in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or human development a plus. A minimum of two (2) years of case management, career readiness coaching, counseling, and/or other relevant experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of barriers to employment and education, such as skills gaps, history of incarceration, etc. a plus but not required.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard-of-Hearing Services & Auxiliary Services and with knowledge and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), English-like sign systems and tactile forms of communication (voice to sign/sign to voice), the duties of this position includes providing a full range of expert interpreting services in a variety of settings to include private industry, educational, medical, mental health, and governmental. When not interpreting, the Staff Interpreter will provide assistance in scheduling/coordinating interpreter services and other support as required. The Staff Interpreter will maintain the confidentiality of all assignment-related information including information that is conveyed verbally, in sign language, and written forms.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or completion of an interpreter training program preferred but not required. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. American Sign Language (ASL) fluency required (skills subject to screening). RID/NAD certification (or other certification deemed equal to RID) preferred but not required. If certified, CEU requirements must be met to maintain certification. Knowledge and understanding of deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing people, their needs, and deaf culture required. Should possess valid driver’s license.

The VM will also participate in the on-call rotation, answering hotlines and Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) calls and completing all corresponding documentation.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, non-profit management, hospitality, communications, or related field strongly preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in volunteer management, social services, social work, fundraising, non-profit, or other responsible administrative role. Position: Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner – Contract Position
Contract Position
Under the general supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and the Medical Director, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will perform forensic medical exams on victims of sexual assault. The forensic medical exam involves a detailed history, a physical assessment including a pelvic exam, the collection of evidence, and the administration of prophylactic medications. The SANE must endure confidential, quality care for victims by attending to physical, emotional, and educational needs of each patient. The SANE may also serve as a witness providing objective observations for cases in the judicial system and may participate in a multidisciplinary team that reviews current cases for ongoing coordination.
This is a contract position that requires a minimum of four (4) twelve-hour on-call shifts each month. Scheduling is determined one month in advance. The SANE must adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures to ensure quality care. SANE education and training can be obtained after hire and will be partially reimbursed by the organization. Training may take several months to complete.
Requirements: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Tennessee. Must live within one (1) hour of the organization. Must have or obtain professional liability insurance. The SANE should also have excellent writing skills, oral communication, and the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients and their families; the ability to attend meetings and training sessions; basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Word.
