TENNESSEE COALITION TO END DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE
Clinical Director
Job Summary
The Clinical Director will lead a collaborative, cross-system coordination program to provide treatment of trauma for domestic and/or sexual violence survivors with substance use disorder or who are at risk of developing substance use disorder. The Clinical Director will supervise the entire project and program staff, ensuring that milestones are met, grant conditions are in compliance and reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Program Overview:
The Tennessee Coalition Opioid Abatement Program will be a threefold initiative that includes prevention, education, and treatment to address this need. Primary prevention activities will include the creation and dissemination of educational materials, as well as training and support for prevention professionals. The Coalition will provide education and technical assistance to local domestic violence and sexual assault programs across Tennessee to improve their capacity to serve survivors with Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring issues. Direct services will include free, statewide telehealth and recovery groups for DV/SA survivors that focus on trauma, opioid, and substance use.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership of Opioid Abatement Activities:
- Direct and oversee the trauma treatment activities for survivors with OUD and any co-occurring SUD/MH conditions, supporting them in treatment or recovery, and connecting them to care.
- Supervise telehealth counseling and support group activities to increase access to trauma treatment for survivors at the intersection of domestic and sexual violence and substance abuse
- Oversees core strategies to build the capacity of domestic and sexual violence providers and preventions to address the intersections of trauma and substance abuse
- Implement warm hand-off programs for recovery services.
- Continue professional development for counseling staff.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all reporting is correct and done on time.
- Ensure that all grant deliverables are met on time.
- Work with the Business Team to ensure the budget of each prevention grant is managed effectively.
Leadership team:
- Give input on strategic decisions and collaborate on other issues as needed.
- Be a thought partner to the CEO on key questions.
- Ensure that all organizational decisions are translated to and through the prevention teams.
- Ensure that violence prevention remains an essential piece of the overall mission and work of the Coalition.
Recruit, Train, and Mentor Staff:
- Direct and coordinate the responsibilities of the TNCEDSV Opioid Abatement Program Team staff.
- Provide one-on-one supervision, coaching, and feedback to each OAP Team member at least monthly and provide a formal evaluation annually.
- Work with each OAP Team member to complete a Role Expectations worksheet and Professional Development Plan annually.
- Serves as a leader to ensure strong communications between TCEDSV and all external constituents.
- Follows and supports policies and procedures of TCEDSV.
- Actively seeks to learn the history of TCEDSV.
- Supports and promotes the mission of TCEDSV.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Three plus years of management experience in a clinical/counseling environment.
- Masters/Clinical Licensure required.
- Expertise with trauma treatment protocols and how it intersects with DV/SA and substance abuse.
- Experience with telehealth counseling delivery.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills.

Community Outreach Specialist (OAP)
Job Summary
The Community Outreach Specialist for the Opioid Abatement Program will be dedicated to establishing/supporting key partnerships between SUD and DV/SA professionals, including facilitating committees.
Job Responsibilities
The Tennessee Coalition Opioid Abatement Program will be a threefold initiative that includes prevention, education, and treatment to address this need. Primary prevention activities will include the creation and dissemination of educational materials, as well as training and support for prevention professionals. The Coalition will provide education and technical assistance to local domestic violence and sexual assault programs across Tennessee to improve their capacity to serve survivors with Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring issues. Direct services will include free, statewide telehealth and recovery groups for DV/SA survivors that focus on trauma, opioid, and substance use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes partnerships between local domestic violence/sexual assault providers, local opioid/substance abuse treatment and recovery providers, and housing/employment resources.
- Convenes the Substance Use and IPV Committee.
- Creates and maintains resource directory.
- Assists with warm hand-offs to recovery programs.
- Engage non-profits, faith-based communities, and community coalitions to support people in treatment and recovery and to support family members in their efforts to support the person with OUD in the family.
- Engage non-profits and the faith community as a system to support prevention and support outreach for treatment.
- Serves as a leader to ensure strong communications between TCEDSV and all external constituents.
- Follows and supports policies and procedures of TCEDSV.

Qualifications
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in partnership development.

Training Specialist (OAP)
Job Summary
The Training Specialist for the Opioid Abatement Program will be dedicated to training activities on best practices for addressing the needs of survivors of sexual and domestic violence with OUD and any co-occurring SUD/MH conditions. This position will create and provide training to reduce stigma, increase knowledge of resources/access to treatment, and increase service capacity that will combat the opioid epidemic within the DV/SA survivor community in Tennessee.
Program Overview:
The Tennessee Coalition Opioid Abatement Program will be a threefold initiative that includes prevention, education, and treatment to address this need. Primary prevention activities will include the creation and dissemination of educational materials, as well as training and support for prevention professionals. The Coalition will provide education and technical assistance to local domestic violence and sexual assault programs across Tennessee to improve their capacity to serve survivors with Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring issues. Direct services will include free, statewide telehealth and recovery groups for DV/SA survivors that focus on trauma, opioid, and substance use.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides training to at least 400 people per year to include at least two trainings per month around intersections of opioid use/domestic violence/sexual assault/stalking/human trafficking.
- Utilizing best practices in services, train professionals (including law enforcement & medical professionals) in the domestic violence/sexual assault/stalking/human trafficking field.
- Develop custom training programs that may take place online, in classrooms, or in training facilities and include the creation of toolkits or eLearnings, national or local conferences to disseminate findings from projects including Annual Conference/Tommy Burks/ED Roundtable/Advocates Roundtable.
- Expand training for first responders, schools, community support groups, and families
- Train on culturally appropriate services and programs for persons with OUD and any co-occurring SUD/MH conditions, including new Americans.
- Create and support prevention education and training.
- Create and support staff training or networking programs and services to improve the capability of government, community, and not-for-profit entities to abate the opioid crisis.
- Support stigma reduction efforts regarding treatment and support for persons with OUD, including reducing the stigma on effective treatment.
- Serves as a leader to ensure strong communications between TCEDSV and all external constituents.
- Follows and supports policies and procedures of TCEDSV.
